Birthday and a Block!

Hubs and I left the boyos at home and went to Brown County for the weekend.
We did some shopping in Nashville and then went driving and hiking in the park.
We spent Saturday night at a Hilton with a jacuzzi tub in the room.  Very good choice after a day of walking and hiking!

There's a Sperry's store at the outlet mall.
These are my spanky-new, birthday shoes...aren't they fun!
Mexican for dinner and sleeping in.

Last week, I painted my yucky, old, rusty patio table a happy Key Lime Pie green!
We call it the "Kermit the Frog" table.  I think this had something to do with my choice-

Such a happy, summer color that matches the grass and the gardens.  It makes me smile.
Some in the family just shake their heads and smile.
Only, I don't think they're smiling for the same reason I'm smiling.
~?~

This quilt came out of the pile and asked to be worked on towards being finished.
Measured, it's about 78" x 90".  Not quite a queen size quilt, but definitely bigger than a full size.  I bought queen size batting for if I get there when I get ready to quilt it.
Piecing a back for this...hmmm...

On the floor trying to talk to me and tell me what it wants for a flip side.
Yes.  My quilts do talk to me.
Might go a long way as to why my family shake their heads and smile?

These Rose Star blocks are so fun to pick fabrics out for and sew easy when machine piecing.

So, for kicks and giggles, I made a happy, summery yellow one and had a "lightbulb" moment on how to piece the back.
Yummy.  Yummy.  Yummy.
