So. Ahem. I was cruising Pinterest the other day...and over at
the red thread, you will find my newest inspirational motivation!
Lisa's blog is full of eye-bursting, heart-popping projects and colors!
Oh, be still my heart!
Don't those fabrics just shout "Spring!"
Needed a more modern block to work on this week, so out came the aqua and pink/red scraps.
Very neat. Very tidy. Very unusual for me!
Halfway there!
Here is one finished up. Needed thirty-one 2 1/2" sq. blue, twenty 2 1/2" sq. pink and red and ten aqua/pink and red half triangles.
Quick and easy to put together. This block finishes out at 16 1/2" sq. It wouldn't take too many to make a lap quilt.
But is that too much of a good thing?
Do I make another one in other colors like Lisa did and go from there?
Pillow?
Ack!
Help!
What to do, what to do!

You have me wanting to make this for a friend of mine! She loves purple:) Thanks for the inspiring post!
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks. I like the aqua/pink combo. I am in love with aqua and red. Have a whole pin board devoted to it. Ah...now I have another project I want to add to my to-do list! I just blogged about my plans so I guess now I will change them. Have a great week and thanks for sharing your pretties with us.
ReplyDeleteMore colors ! That aqua and pink one is beautiful, but yeh, I want to see MORE of that luscious girly stash of yours represented !
ReplyDeleteI'm a pushover for heart shaped anything, but especially patchwork hearts. Your colors make my heart sing!

I think you should make more in alternating pink hearts and aqua hearts and have something to contrast the colours in sashing. You've inspired me to make a heart block to, I just need to find a recipient/ excuse :)
ReplyDeleteMy, you have a pretty amazing fabric stash there; your photo reminds me of a waterfall of glorious colour!! I love the fabric choices for your heart.....as for helping you to choose what fabrics to select next...I am quite certain that you will come up with an inspired choice!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!! sooooo lovely!!!!!! I MUST make one now!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable! Perfect for Valentine's! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty and I love the different colors!
ReplyDeleteLove these!! I do love your pink and blue heart blocks ~ my favorites!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! Love them.
ReplyDeleteso pretty! I'm convinced these hearts should be made into a postage stamp.
ReplyDeleteI think the red hearts are adorable! A table runner would work great for a February party...{:-Deb
ReplyDeleteooh these are nice. I say go with more colors! I love all the combos you have going on here. The one with the yellow is my fave. Although the commenter above me might have an idea with a table runner. Still - the more colors the better in my book. ;)
ReplyDeleteMore is better! What a fun heart block, and quick to make

I like the pillow idea but a quilt would nice too. Different colors for sure because you have such a great sense of color!
ReplyDeleteI am not a heart type person but I want to make one of these! I found the picture where you greyed the background fabric quite interesting......
ReplyDeletethis is so sweet! Love these hearts!
ReplyDeletelove your colors and the design. Maybe a quilt if the hearts are different colors with soft low volume background. The grey shows off the colors nicely. My 2cents.
ReplyDeleteyou could make single block pillows, or put a few together for a table topper! super cute. I LOVE the aqua/red combo!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up with Needle and Thread Thursday!

Such a cute design. I love the pink and aqua combo. I could see doing a quilt with just a one or two heart blocks and then doing some blocks that are all 2.5" squares. I think the design with 9 hearts looses some of the charm.
ReplyDeleteI really like your scrappy heart. I have been looking for one. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Dee,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know I tried to respond to your comment that you left on my blog, but your email address failed and my response was sent back. Thought I'd tell you in case you weren't aware.
